I met Daniel very briefly during the end of spring. He and his band mate were touring the monuments at the National Mall in Washington, DC, but were in a rush to get back to rehearsal. Nevertheless he was a nice guy and gave me five minutes to capture him and his story for the 100 Strangers Project.

Daniel is a drummer in a German band called Audio Damn! They were performing at the Black Cat in DC that night, one of many stops on their US tour, which kicked off in L.A. in February. By the time I met Daniel they had performed in many of the major cities in the US. They only had one more night in DC and then were headed to perform in Philadelphia and New York City before returning to Germany.

While brief, the encounter with Daniel and his band mate reminded me of a few things:

  1. Slow down.
  2. Be present in the moment.
  3. Don’t be afraid to talk to new people.
